BIGG Boss 17 star Isha Malviya has denied ever having dated co-star Abhishek Kumar - just days before their on-screen spat premiered.

Isha and Abhishek were reported to be in a relationship whilst they were working together on the TV drama Udaariyan.

Dating rumours quickly encircled the duo as they became increasingly close, sharing reels of themselves, and even creating a YouTube channel together to share vlogs with their fans.

It has been claimed that when Abhishek left the show their relationship flatlined and the pair went their separate ways.

But, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Isha claimed: "We weren't dating each other ever.

"We were very good friends but we haven't met for a long time. We are on talking terms.

"I'm excited to see how things will unfold with him in the show."

And in an exclusive interview with TellyTalk India, Abhishek also denied that they are dating.

He revealed: "I have time and time again said I and Isha Malviya are very close friends, but we are not dating,

"I might not go against Isha in the house even if we fight, but if I have a conflict with anyone else, I won't stand on the sidelines.

"I would rather pick my own battles."

Yet, despite Abhishek's words, a viral video teasing season 17's first episode has shone light on a fiery spat between the pair.

In the video Isha can be heard saying: "I don't want you to return in my life again."

Before Abhishek retorts: "Even I don't wish to be in your life."

All the while, infamous host Salman Khan can be seen squirming in the background.

Ahead of the premiere, both Abhishek and Isha were reported to have been extremely excited about their new journey in the Bigg Boss 17 house.

Isha said: "I'm looking forward to getting a huge amount of success and also want people to recognise me as my real self.

"People know me as Jasmine from Udaariyaan, I want them to know me as Isha Malviya."

This season is looking like one of the most dramatic yet - what with the already ensuing conflict between Abhishek and Isha, and the rumour that this season's contestants could be allowed access to their phones.

Although other reality TV shows have attempted to allow phone usage before, they have been severely monitored and regulated - so as to make sure that they don't communicate with anyone outside of the show.
